Chris Howard


Bio
      Chris Howard of Gatlinburg Tennessee has been carving since the age of 8, and teaching carving professionally for the last 10 years. Chris teaches faces for both the advanced as well as the beginner. His classes focus on, “Learning the basics to capturing emotion in a piece.” He has been featured and contributes to Carving Magazine, as well as had an Episode on the "DIY" network 'Woodsculptors', and has won numerous awards.   http://thenorfolkfamily.com/chrishowardstudio/













Class description


Chris Howard will offer a unique selection of projects in both basswood and butternut rough-outs.  He will take his students step by step through the process of how to carve either a male or female human realistic bust.  Chris will discuss basic anatomy of facial structure in simple to understand terms and methods.  A limited amount of combined project with Leah Goddard (Native American with animal bust) will be offered.
